Review for Sur Hostel, a sound choice for sleeping in Colonia del Sacremento

We stayed for 2 nights at this hostel while exploring Colonia del Sacremento.  It’s located close to the ferry, the bus terminal and downtown, making it very convenient to all.  The hostel is immaculate and boasts a lovely outdoor sitting area and rooftop where you can relax in the sun or sit and have your dinner.   Bathrooms are clean, piping hot showers and good plumbing. The kitchen is one of the largest, cleanest ones I have seen, making it an ideal place to cook your own dinner.  The staff is friendly but not overly so.  We stayed in a double room which was gigantic, especially for South America standards.  The breakfast is included in the reasonable rate and while not so good, it wasn’t so bad either, which seems the norm for breakfast in these parts.  Coffee should, once again, be avoided.  When in Rome, do as the Romans and if the case is Argentina, then start drinking maté.  At least you won’t be disappointed.  I highly recommend this hostel, especially if you want to self-cater for a night or two.  Check out their website here for more photos and information.
